Like every year, this year also the Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated with great zeal by the Banik family of Sheoraphuli on 13th of September, 2018.
The entire house is usually cleaned before setting up the idol and entire family is gathered to welcome the Lord. The idol is then worshiped by offerings of durva, flowers, modaks and karanji. Hundreds of people gather at the Banik house on the auspicious occasion of Sri Ganesh Chaturthi to offer prayers to the Lord and bhog is distributed among them. 'Jai Ganesh Deva Arat'i is performed in the evening. The head of the family, Sri Tapas Kumar Banik remarked that every year flowers are offered on the feet of Lord Ganesh for the well being of all the people the universe. -Hello Kolkata Network
