Active Youth, a renowned social welfare organization had organized its very first Blood Donation Camp on 4th of November at Kalakakali, Bangur from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. It was a noble initiative that took place before the cultural programs of 'Hello Kolkata' occurred in the afternoon.
Many people, about 72, from various walk of life had participated in the blood donation. The members and even locals extended their fullest co-operation to make the camp a grand success, informed an organizing official.
The camp was inaugurated by Hon'ble MLA of Bidhannagar Constituency and the Guest of Honour was Miss Kankana Chakraborty, an actress and director, known for Women Prayed and Preyed Upon- Documentary 2013 (2013), Singularity (2015) and PK (2017) .
The camp started with donors filling up forms pertaining to their health. Before blood donation, each donor’s blood pressure and health history was checked by medical officials. Post donation, certificates were distributed and healthy snacks were provided to donors.
The organizers got ample support from Debraj Chakraborty, Councillor and Chief Patron of the NGO, Ratan Mridha, the Guideline Committee member, Bhaskar Roy, an eminent social worker, Biswaroop Biswas, President of F.I.D.B.O. and many other generous persons who joined hands to uplift the noble cause.
Active Youth will continue to serve the society with more such noble initiatives in coming future for holistic development of our society, remarked the organizing spokesperson. --Hello Kolkata Network
